I used the motion from this clip:

to apply to this clip:

which is first smoothed to make a clean motion palette:

which ends up looking like this:
http://www.yafiunderground.com/Video/stabtest-out.mov

My thoughts is that this could be used to make more realistic CGI stuff. One of the problems I have is with fakey motion in lots of CGI stuff.

Nice job. We are doing the same thing for one of our features. The entire film was shot green screen with some shots handheld and others lockdown. In shots were there is just not enough going on, we add some camera movement grabbed from another shot and apply it to the static shot.
