How can I get a better quality video?

(Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum, I couldn't quite figure out where to put this one).

Can someone explain to me how this is supposed to work? I've been trying to watch the free videos in order to evaluate prior to purchase, but with the very slow frame rate they have, they are very difficult to watch, almost like watching a software that is stuck. I been trying to get some kind of descent performance out of this for two days now and given up. I'e tried on four different computers, OS X and Win, but the video player and video just performs really bad up to a point that one begins to wonder how much trouble a customer can be expected to go through just to buy a product... I have a 2Mbit connection, so yes, it's not that fast, but should a faster connection be required then I gather it would have been mentioned somewhere. Also, I can not preload the video, it just starts loading again when I move the playhead and as it is stalled every now and then it makes the viewing close to impossible.

Then to my joy I find that there are DVD's advertised on the forum, but when I click on the link it seems to point to the same Video-on-demand system. There is no product info, only content info and a purchase link to Paypal. If I buy from the DVD links in the forum, for instance this one http://cmi.myfastforum.org/forum47.php , can I then order actual DVD´s? If so, is the quality on these better than in the video player? The tutorials seems to be really great so I would really like to buy them in a working quality.

I have written an email to cmiVFX support about this, but after seeing so many posts here about unanswered support emails, I figured I'd have a go here also, as I really would like to buy the C4D DVD's if they are in a good quality.

Cheers

Good luck. I had problems with the online viewing too until a few weeks ago. I am on cable tho. the video play alright 90% of the time now but you can't go back or forward. No you can't get DVD's its all viewed online now. I have heard that if you do pay for the product and you can not get it to view right then for a few more $ they can watermark your info on a DVD set for you. Good luck on that tho.

Thanks Strosek, that's very informative. I figured the DVD's where gone.
I've been trying a bit more now and finally made it work better But not being able to rewind the videos after download makes it useless for me, as playback stops every five, ten seconds to buffer. Also, the low framerate on some of the videos make them a real pain to watch.

After waiting a couple of weeks for a reply from cmiVFX both via email and on this forum, I find the line: "Yes we actually listen to the end users" quite hilarious. There's a lot of self promotion going on from cmiVFX but it really falls flat on its face with this complete lack of customer care. If you provide a product online you better damn well back it up also, as your customers might jump through a lot of hoops just to make it work. I suspect the creators are busy with their video files, but that's no excuse in any other serious business. Personally I will be buying my education elsewhere.
