hi Folks,

This is indeed a new experience for me. i know pracitcally nothing about this software and zoomed into shop and they were selling this..pls could you assist me with information for learning. I am an architect with extreme interest in rendering and animation...could someone give me background information on how to use the ooftware..there are so many houdini sections...there's houdini halo, image,escape, master.. etc. which one should i use or rather is useful to me?

Needless to say, the Procedural Modeling of Cities DVD will be the perfect tool to begin with architecture in Houdini ( see the thread).
As to begin with Houdini, just have a look at sidefx.com and odforce.net. Then when i have more time, i will be able to give you more precise advices.

thanks so much for your reply. I felt more at home when i saw your post...but one question...how do i get free tutorials on Houdini and the cities DVD; is it downloadable and is it free?
Thank coz im looking for replacement for the 3dsmax and i guess Houdini might be the solution...pls reply coz i want to begin work immediately
