Hummm not sure of the workaround for shake, but in AE, you would just have to track the nano and apply the tracking data to the shape or layer you want to place.

ok well AE works to. id just like to see a tutorial on how to do it im kinda new to shake and especially AE.

good deal

Steve,

thanks for the help. It will be great to ad AFX tuts to the site. We are so short on time over here as it is.. We expect to get free time just after the holidays.

Keep those tuts coming and maybe one of you guys will be starring in your own dvd. Wink

iPod Commerical

Hi all,

I had a look at the tutorial for creating the iPod Commerical. Very handy! The tutorial with the lady walking on green screen is the one I'm interested in. I'm working on a project similar to that one, but the background isn't green or blue screen.

Quite frankly, it's amatuer video shot with a camcorder with a beige/eggshell background and a dancer wearing blue jeans, Converse sneakers and a black fedora among other things.

Is there a way to get the same effect, i.e. the iPod commerical effect (with a pink background and black sillouette) with this footage or does it have to be re-shot on another background?

I'm a true beginner, so I'm sure I've missed plenty of steps.

Thanks!
steve

It honnestly sounds like it's going to be hard threw a fast method... I would normally tell you to explore keylight or primatte or any chromakeyer, however the beiger background, + the white (I'm assuming) from the converse shoes, + the actors skin color (assuming he is white or slightly tanned) all ressemble each other. I think your true only way out is going to be rotoscoping (masking out your actor frame by frame). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I kinda figured I'd have to do a Rotoscope. Grrr! Haha! I may just get the dancer in a studio with blue or green background and get her to wear different oufits to get around this.

I've tried using the Keylight, but when I add the Color node, instead of turning pink, it turns green instead.

And with the tutorial, I've tried to use Saturation to make the black sillouette as they have in the iPod commercials with no luck. So would you suggest a different outfit and/or background altogether?

Thanks!

if you have a proper background, unless shes wearing clothing which matchs the background, you should be fine.

Thanks! I'll have to get reshoots or get her to do it on a different background!
