sky replace

ok, if your talking about foreground middle ground and back ground....

is the forground camera moving OR is just a bunch of stuff moving around the camera?

1Smile the solution the first problem is this.

Track your footage with PFTRACK, PFHo PRo etc.. and get the camera from it. Save it as maya ascii. we then import that camera in to the 3d space right? So then use the new sky generator OR an image plane/sphere (its really up to you) and make it large enough to alwasy be in camera. move it away from camera for more or less depth. (the further away it is, the more parralax you create, but the slower the BG moves when the camera does.

Here is a good trick.

I like to use a sphere and map my sky to it. That way when the clouds above move faster the the distant ones (depending on camera speed)

I guess this is a simple set up for most 3d guys. Same thing happens here... just layer the forground downstream somewhere. (not in 3d but 2d nodes) They sky will now match the footage. YOU MAY HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SIZE OF YOUR SKY SPHERE. Depending on how close you want clouds to be, and to better sync parallax.

I DIDNT SHOW THIS BECUZ FUSION HAS NO 3D CAMERA TRACKER.

2Smile the second situation was shown on the DVD.

3Smile sometimes you can hand animate the camera or key frame the sky movments for some shots. Iv actually had to do it when the 3d trackers couldnt span over large similar solid areas. (thats a whole other issue)

So lets do this, post your footage and comps here.. and everyone can follow along. Smile
