Problem with View

Hi, Im very new to fusion and having a bit of a problem here as I cant see any clips when i load them into my view. in the bin i will see the thumbnail of the clip but as soon as I put them in the view it becomes a big red cross (x) any idea why is this happening? any help would be much appreciated.
