Hi there!
I just purchase the new Houdini Tutorials. They are great, but I find the player to be a bit annoying, is not as responsive and easy to use than Quicktime for exemple. Sometimes the streaming also lags, or my video becomes just a big bunch of articfacts and it's not really easy to "jog" thought the video. One other thing, if I want to check it out on my laptop and I don't have a internet connection, I'm screwed...So here's my general request, It would be greatly appreciated to be able to download the videos instead of playing them online, and it would still be green Smile. Pleeeaasse!!!

I second this!  Not having an off-line version to watch is really annoying. I'd gladly pay extra for DVD or downloadable versions.

I couldn't agree more. I've bought three new tutorials so far, but in spite of the clear quality of the training, I really doubt I'll buy more if they aren't available for download.

The online player is extremely frustrating even when it's working reliably (it's very hard to accurately jump back to review a section), and the last thing you want when you're trying to grapple with complex material is to keep stopping to troubleshoot the damn playback.

Right now, I can't even watch my Houdini training because the player refuses to stream the picture correctly (I'm getting audio over a still frame of the last C4D video I watched). I've tried Safari and Firefox and Flash Player 9 and 10, all to no avail.

Can someone from CMI please comment on this? It seems like you're just avoiding the question.

I've got to also agree here - I didn't read the website closely enough before I paid my money, and assumed that because the videos were 'HD Quality' and there was HD footage for some of the products that this would be shipped on DVD and not an online option (huge amounts of data, and all).  What a shock when today, a month later, I enquire why the DVD's hadn't arrived to discover that its all streaming, online (which, to be honest, was my fault for not reading the websitemore closely)

I'd love to be able to learn in my own time, wherever I was, and on whatever machine I was using (like my gruntier 3D workstation that's not networked, or my work machine in my lunch break).  Streaming online stuff really limits this...  Specially given the low-spec of my bandwidth and online machine that struggles to play the video at more then a max of 4-5 frames per sec (though it looks more like 1 fps when I first tried this morning)

I don't like the fact I have to have online access whenever I want to view the training.  That severely limits the usability of this training, and now I don't know what I'm supposed to do (Would I get a refund?  I kinda WANT to watch the training I purchased really).  Its very depressing and frustrating for me at this stage...

There were other titles I was keen on buying later in the year, but not if they are streaming.  I'm more then happy to pay for shipping to get it on DVD, or set up a download manager to grab them online overnight...

Hmmm...  Glad I'm not the only person with this concern... Sad

Sad thing is.... i think this stupid online-only thing is to prevent piracy.... but seriously... sometimes the thought comes up to look for the videos i paid for on pirate-sites on the internet! so ironicall! i wouldn´t do it, but this seems to be the only option to get the videos in a downloadable way.
Sorry to say this. I would never do it, and i hope nobody else will, but i just wanted to point out the frustration of some people here, and in my opinion this is actually promoting piracy.
